It is very important to maintain the pianos as they are expensive pieces of furniture. It is like the love of life for a musician; hence it should be maintained in the best possible condition by regular cleaning and polishing of the piano. You must not use furniture polish to polish the pianos. You may use a damped and wrung soft cloth to clean the piano. For high-gloss finish pianos, the micro fiber cloth is used to clean its surface. You can find the micro fiber cloth easily in the home car wash accessories section of the local hardware store. Some people use anti-static polishes that are used to keep the dust away from your piano. Polishes for piano can be purchased from the piano stores.
To clean the piano keys it is better to use the clean damp cloth to clean the tops of the piano keys easily. A mild soap solution may be used to clean the keys in cases where the keys are tougher. Let the keys to be dried completely so that water does not go inside the keys. It's advisable not to use any chemicals or cleaning fluids on keys.
You must not clean the interior of the piano yourself and take the services of a technician to clean the interiors. Professionals can easily handle those breakable parts in a piano without any problem. These technicians need time to work if the piano is very dusty to ensure that any part is not damaged.
Taking the services of a technician would ensure longevity of the life of your piano. The qualified piano technician will rectify any piano problems in no time. The other main advantage is that it increases the resale value of your piano.
